# TCY

TCY stands for **THORChain Yield** a new token introduced on the THORChain network as part of a recovery plan following issues in [early 2025. ](https://medium.com/thorchain/thorfi-unwind-96b46dff72c0)

In simple terms, TCY is an **equity-like token** that gives holders a share of THORChain’s future revenues. It was created specifically to address the collapse of THORChain’s ThorFi services [(Lending and Savers vault ](https://medium.com/thorchain/tcy-launch-d48bb63cfc4e)) that occurred in January 2025.

Instead of a one-time payout, TCY converts the debt owed to users into a token that **earns yield from the network over time**, **ten percent** of all THORChain system income (fees and block rewards) is allocated to TCY holders as yield.

#### Claiming

If you had funds in THORChain’s Savers vaults, an active ThorFi loan, or held THORChain synthetic assets when the system was halted in January 2025, **you are likely eligible to claim TCY .**TCY is **not automatically airdropped** to you, it must be claimed manually , there is no timeframe for TCY claiming.

If you are eligible to claim TCY , a banner would pop-up on your home screen (similar to the below).

Follow the flow of the Interface after tapping on the banner to claim the TCY.

{% hint style="warning" %}
TCY is automatically staked at Claim , go to the earn tab to view your position
{% endhint %}
